ARKANSAS DOWN-HOME FRIED CORN

1 tbsp bacon drippings or butter
4 cups whole-kernel corn (6 to 7 ears cut from the cob)
4 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup water

In a large skillet, heat the bacon drippings or butter over medium heat. Add corn, sugar, salt, and water; saute 5 to 7 minutes. Serve hot.

Yield: 8 servings
